Flat Classroom Conference

Building bridges today that society tomorrow will walk across

The muezzen call didn't wake me today at 5am as I was already tossing and turning running through the day's events in my mind. It goes without saying we have an exciting and busy day ahead!
Here we go!
- Presenters and facilitators will be meeting for breakfast in a couple of hours to review the whole proram, view the facilities and work on their final presentations and organisaton.
- The Day 1 (Saturday January 24) program is online with the full schedule available HERE
Highlights of the day:
- Registration starts at 1pm in the Qatar Academy Senior School foyer
- Opening Ceremony is at 2pm in the Auditorium
- Conversation with Tom Friedman at 5:15 (Auditorium), read the invitation for students to interact with Tom during this session
- Flat Classroom Debates at 6pm (Auditorium) linkup wth Educon 2.1 and simulcast as the launch to Future of Education
- Conference Dinner at 7pm with keynote speaker from HSBC Nicole van Hattem

We will be U-Streaming and providing a backchannel for most sessions throughout so that virtual and real participants can connect.
Have a great day everyone!

Man....I didn't even hear the muezzen this morning. But that's OK, we have a mosque outside our house in Bangkok that we hear five times a day. :)

Julie, this conference will be a highlight for many of us. The many hours that you have put in will ensure that all goes well and that it is a great success. Thank you for all you have done as I know this will be just so memorable for both the students, parents and me.

Excellent first day Julie! Greg, Vicki, and you gave wonderful kick off speeches, The first session with Don & Lynn really got everyone thinking about the essential conditions necessary for a shift from skill based technology to one that is more learning focused:-)
