Hello Anne,
I'm sure all our thoughts are with you at this time. The news is horrifying and we are shocked to think you and those near to you are in the thick of it. Stay cool inside your mind, even if the outside is unbearably hot. We'll look for...
Steve, you have put into words what many of us are feeling after the event. When you mentioned being in a box it had me thinking about the reasons I chose to leave England and go live in Paris. Nothing is as powerful as travel and new cultures - a...
Observing the groups working flat out on their video projects on the Monday, I would have been unable to predict the results. For me all are winners and the all energy generated should go right back into the selected topic(s) with added determinat...
Anne, I can take no credit at all for this collection. The series brought home to me how different yet how alike we all are. Being in Qatar for the FCC just strengthened that feeling. We can, should and will set this up - either a Flickr group or ...
My students in grades 2-5 have followed much of the conference on the ning. Their enthusiasm was unanimous. One of my Grade 5 Students was inspired to start a rap on the global topics - I'll update his work as it develops. Patrick is a true mongre...
Chris, this a wonderful idea for a future project. It would have been great to get a testimonial from the conference attendees as mayby part of reflections of the conference or to find out the answers to the same question posed in the testimonials...
This is to let the team know we have played this video for all our Lower School Classes and they found it a great project. Of course they also rallied strongly to Eracism but you wouldn't expect less I'm sure. Wouldn't it be great if the voting co...
Thanks Chris for your prompt reply. I meant to tell you that the year 7 students are part of the ping project. We are using the beta version of audacity which has a beat meter and freesound. I liked using freesound for adding sound effects and loops to podcasts. Our students will be making musical stories and sharing them with three other schools who are involved. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will show us some of their instruments, talk about the physics of them etc and record short sound clips for student use. We start on Monday.
Hi Chris Hope you made it home okay. Thank you for running the sessions that I attended. They were great and I hope to start using some of those url's in my classes soon. How did your recording of what went on in the bus on the last night go when the kids were singing their national anthems. My mobile phone only recorded a couple of those. Is it possible to get a copy or maybe I should look at your music recordings in the left hand sidebar. If they are not there, may I please get a copy and second, may I use them. Thanks

After a half day in the media labs I want to say how inspiring the work of the groups is! The work has progressed so fast and the skills have grown incredibly! Here is a link that will hopefully open more ears and eyes to 'talking heads' and the way the same essential questions have answers all over the world. Perhaps this could be a projects for Flat Classrooms to adopt over the coming year(s)?

My student Ahmed and I were interviewed by Oman TV to talk about Flat Classroom Project and Conference. It was a great chance to tell the public what Flat Classroom is about. We gave a background about our international projects and then we moved ...
